Young children traveling without a parent or legal guardian are considered to be
Unaccompanied Minors. If you are allowing your child to fly alone as an
unaccompanied minor, be sure to take every necessary precaution to ensure his or
her safety.
Age Requirements
Bulgaria Air offers an unaccompanied minors (UM) service for children aged 5 to
12 years. Children under 5 years must travel with an adult guardian. For
children aged 12 to 18, the UM service is optional.
Booking the Service
The unaccompanied minor service must be booked in advance, usually at the time
of ticket purchase. Parents or guardians should notify Bulgaria Air about the
minor traveling alone and complete the necessary forms.
Check-in Procedure
Parents or guardians must accompany the unaccompanied minor to the airport and
stay until the flight has departed. The check-in process includes providing
valid identification, contact details, and completing required documentation.
Supervision
Bulgaria Air staff will supervise the minor throughout the journey, from
check-in, through boarding, during the flight, and upon arrival. The child will
be handed over only to the designated person at the destination, who must
present valid identification.
Fees
A service fee may apply for the unaccompanied minor service. This fee varies
depending on the flight route and other factors.
