WestJet Unaccompanied Minors Policy
Young children traveling without a parent or legal guardian are considered to be Unaccompanied Minors. If you are allowing your child to fly alone as an unaccompanied minor, be sure to take every necessary precaution to ensure his or her safety.

Unaccompanied Minor Service provides assistance to help check-in and board a
minor onto WestJet aircraft. Once onboard the aircraft, the minor is taken care
by WestJet crew members to ensure the child has the most enjoyable flight
possible. Once at the final destination, the minor is accompanied through gate
and baggage claim until they are safely delivered to the designated person
picking them up.
This service is unavailable for children who:
• are visually or hearing impaired;
• have an allergy that requires them to travel with an epinephrine auto-injector
(for example, an Epi-Pen®);
• require assistance to take essential medication;
• have a disability that may hinder their success if they are not travelling
with a parent or guardian.
WestJet charged $100 USD/CAD fee per direction for the Unaccompanied Minor
Service per child will be collected at the time of booking.
The Unaccompanied Minors are only allowed on direct and non-stop flights. All
reservations for an unaccompanied minor must be made directly through WestJet's
Sales Super Centre by calling 1-888-937-8538 (1-888-WESTJET).
