Passengers who discover that personal belongings have been left behind or
checked baggage has not arrived should report the matter as soon as possible.
Aegean Airlines and its ground handling partners provide assistance for items
left on board and baggage-related enquiries, while articles misplaced inside
airport terminals are managed by the respective airport authorities.
Items Left on Board the Aircraft
Personal belongings found in the aircraft cabin after arrival are collected by
cabin crew and transferred to the airline or its appointed ground handling
agent. Items such as mobile phones, passports, wallets, laptops, jewellery and
travel documents are recorded and stored in accordance with local airport
procedures.
Items Lost Inside the Airport
Property misplaced in check-in halls, security screening areas, departure
lounges, boarding gates or baggage reclaim areas is handled by the airport's
Lost and Found office. Passengers should contact the airport where the item was
lost, as these belongings are not retained by Aegean Airlines.
Delayed or Missing Checked Baggage
Passengers whose checked baggage fails to arrive must report the issue before
leaving the baggage reclaim area. A Property Irregularity Report (PIR) is
created to begin the baggage tracing process using the international baggage
tracking system.
Damaged Baggage
Any damage to checked baggage should be reported immediately after arrival.
Airline representatives will inspect the baggage and determine the appropriate
course of action in accordance with international baggage regulations.
Claiming Recovered Property
Passengers collecting recovered belongings may be asked to present valid
identification together with supporting information such as the baggage tag,
boarding pass or a detailed description of the missing item. Shipping
arrangements may be available where permitted, with transportation costs payable
by the passenger where applicable.
Passenger Advice
Valuable items, cash, medication, passports, electronic devices and important
documents should always be carried in cabin baggage. Passengers are encouraged
to check seat pockets, overhead compartments and the area around their seat
before leaving the aircraft.
