Passengers traveling with Japan Airlines are welcome to bring:

Carry-on Baggage

You may carry onboard one bag containing personal belongings (shopping bag, handbag, etc.) and one additional bag that meets the following conditions, with the total weight of both bags not to exceed 10kg (22lbs).

The size of carry onboard bag is W: within 55 cm × H: within 40 cm × D: within 25 cm (W: within 22 in × H: within 16 in × D: within10 in).

If your baggage is oversized or overweight, or unable to be appropriately stowed in the cabin due to the stowage limitations, it may need to be checked in cargo compartment at the boarding gate or cabin. Please switch off electronic devices in your checked baggage. Valuables should not be included in your checked baggage.

Checked Baggage Allowance

Economy and Premium Economy Class passengers on international flights may check two 23 kg (50 lbs) bags, free of charge. Business and First Class passengers can check three 32 kg (70 lbs) bags. No checked bag should measure more than 203 cm (79.9 in) in total dimensions.

On domestic flights, passengers may check 20 kg (or 45 kg in First Class), free of charge, across a number of bags. Dimensions must not exceed 50 x 60 x 120 cm.

There is an allowance of one checked bag with the same weight and dimensions of the accompanying adult, for an infant travelling on an adult’s lap.

Excess Baggage Fees

If your baggage are excess the free baggage allowance as stated, you will be charged 20,000 yen (200 USD) per additional piece on flights between Japan / Asia / India and Hawaii / North / Central / South America / Europe / Middle East / Africa. On these routes an overweight bag between 23 and 32 kg will incur a charge of 10,000 yen (100 USD) and between 32 and 45 kg, 60,000 yen (600 USD). An oversized bag costs 20,000 yen (200 USD).
