AirAsia Children Flying Alone Policy

Children aged below 12 (Unaccompanied Minors) are not allowed to travel alone in AirAsia flights unless they are accompanied by a person, whom on the day of departure, is at least 18 years old or above. Children must be seated next to the accompanying adult whom they are travelling with.

Young Passengers Travelling Alone (YPTA)

Children between the age of 12 to below 16 years old on the day of departure are considered as Young Passengers Travelling Alone (YPTA).

Airport Handling for YPTA

• Children will be accepted for carriage only after the parents or guardian have signed AirAsia Release and Indemnity Form for Acceptance of YPTA (available at the check-in counter).

• Parents or guardian must remain at the airport until the flight has departed. This is to ensure that the child is not left unattended in case of flight delays or cancellations.

• Pre-boarding or meet-and-assist service will be provided.
Please note that:

A YPTA is not considered as an adult and cannot accompany children below 12 years old.

Guests below 18 years old

Guests between the age of 16 to 17 years old on the day of departure may travel without completing any forms and will be treated as adults. However, they cannot accompany a child under 12 years old.
