Norwegian Air Shuttle provides assistance for passengers who lose personal
belongings during their journey, including items left onboard aircraft,
misplaced at airports, or missing from checked baggage.
The recovery process depends on where the item was lost and which organisation
is responsible for handling the report.
Items Left on Board the Aircraft
Personal belongings discovered inside Norwegian aircraft after arrival are
collected by cabin crew or airport handling personnel. Items are registered and
transferred to the relevant airport’s lost property department for storage and
collection procedures.
Passengers who discover that an item has been left onboard should provide flight
details, arrival airport, seat number if known, and a description of the missing
item when submitting a report. Information such as colour, brand, model, and
identifying marks helps improve the identification process.
Items Lost at Airports
Belongings misplaced inside airport terminals, including check-in areas,
security checkpoints, lounges, boarding areas, and arrival halls, are managed by
the respective airport authorities. Norwegian Air Shuttle does not operate
airport lost property offices and passengers must contact the airport
responsible for the location where the item disappeared.
Passengers should report missing items as soon as possible because storage
periods vary between airports. Identification documents, electronic devices,
wallets, and other valuable items may require additional verification before
collection.
Baggage-Related Lost Property
For delayed, damaged, or missing checked baggage, passengers must report the
issue immediately at the baggage service counter after arrival. A Property
Irregularity Report (PIR) is created to track the baggage case.
Passengers should retain baggage claim tags issued during check-in because these
numbers are required during baggage tracing. Norwegian works with airport
handling partners and baggage tracking systems to locate delayed luggage and
arrange return procedures.
Recovery and Collection
Recovered items are released only after ownership verification. Passengers may
be required to provide identification and details proving ownership before
receiving their belongings.
Passenger Advice
Passengers are advised to keep passports, money, medication, electronic devices,
and other valuable possessions inside cabin baggage. Norwegian Air Shuttle is
not responsible for personal items left unattended or lost outside
airline-controlled handling areas.
