Hand baggage is included as part of all of Virgin Atlantic tickets, and depending on the cabin you might be able to take more than just the one bag. Whichever cabin you’re in, the size of your bag needs to be a maximum of 23 x 36 x 56cm (that's around 9 x 14 x 22 inches).

All passengers flying in Virgin Atlantic Economy or Premium cabins can take one piece of hand baggage per person weighing up to 10kg (or 22lb).

All Upper Class passengers can take up to two pieces of hand baggage per person, weighing up to 12kg (26lb) for one bag, or up to 16kg (35lb) combined weight. So for example, you could take a 12kg bag and another little bag of 4kg.

Important: You must be able to place your hand baggage in the overhead bins unaided.

Checked Baggage Allowance

Economy Light bookings are hand baggage only and don't include any checked baggage. If you'd like to check in a bag, you can still buy additional baggage.

Economy Classic and Delight tickets include one checked in bag. This can be up to 90 x 75 x 43cm (35.5 x 29.5 x 16ins) in size and up to 23kg (50lb) in weight.

If you’re booked into the Virgin Atlantic Premium cabin, you can take up to two pieces of baggage. Bags can each be up to 90 x 75 x 43cm (35.5 x 29.5 x 16ins) in size and up to 23kg (50lb) in weight.

All passengers in Virgin Atlantic Upper Class can take up to three pieces of baggage, each weighing up to 32kg (70lb) and with dimensions of up to 90 x 75 x 43cm (35.5 x 29.5 x 16ins).

Sports Equipment

Some checked items, such as surfboards and bicycles will be charged a fixed handling fee because of size, fragility, or other handling requirements. For more information, contact Virgin Atlantic directly or visit their sports equipment information page.
