Massawa International Airport

[include1/730x20.htm]

Massawa International Airport (IATA: MSW, ICAO: HHMS) is an airport in Massawa, a major city in the Northern Red Sea region of Eritrea.

The Massawa International Airport is a large establishment. It is one of Eritrea's major airports. In the colonial period in Italian Eritrea, a 1,970 km railway line was established between Massawa-Djibouti-Berbera-Galadi-Mogadishu.

As of 2014, the airport only accommodates domestic flights since the companies that formed it do not have international licenses. There are no active airlines operating from Massawa. Eritrean Air Force still uses the airport as one of their three air bases.

The Airport is at an elevation of 206 ft (63 m) above mean sea level. It has one runway designated 07/25 with an asphalt surface with measuring 11,483 ft (3,500 m) in length.
