Blimbingsari Airport

Blimbingsari Airport (Indonesian: Bandara Blimbingsari) (IATA: BWX, ICAO: WADY, formerly WARB) serves the city of Banyuwangi in East Java province, Indonesia. The airport commenced operations in December 2010.

Initially, the runway measured 1,400 meters (4,600 feet) and could only accommodate small propeller-driven aircraft like the Cessna 208. In 2012, it was extended to 1,800 meters (5,900 feet), enabling larger turboprop airliners such as the Fokker 50 and ATR 72 to use the airport. Passenger traffic grew significantly from 7,826 in 2011 to over 110,000 in 2015.

Plans are in place to extend the runway further to 2,200 meters (7,200 feet), allowing jetliners such as the Airbus A320, Boeing 737, and Bombardier CRJ to operate direct flights from Jakarta. The expansion also includes a new 3,500 square meter (38,000 sq ft) passenger terminal and a larger apron. The runway extension started in 2015, with an upgrade to the Pavement Classification Number (PCN) from 16 to 21.

The airport is located at an elevation of 33.5 meters (110 feet) above sea level. It has one asphalt runway, designated 08/26, measuring 1,800 meters (5,906 feet) in length.

Scheduled commercial flights from Blimbingsari Airport include services to Surabaya operated by Garuda Indonesia and Wings Air, as well as flights to Jakarta's Soekarno–Hatta International Airport operated by NAM Air.
