Pondok Cabe Airport

Pondok Cabe Airport (IATA: PCB, ICAO: WIHP) serves the areas of Ciputat,
Cinere, Depok, and various districts in South Jakarta. Located in South
Tangerang, it is near the borders of Cinere in Depok, Pamulang, West and East
Ciputat in South Tangerang, and Cilandak and Jagakarsa in South Jakarta.
Pondok Cabe Airport functions as both a civilian and military airport. It is
owned by the state oil company Pertamina and operated by Pelita Air Service,
which also owns Indopelita Aircraft Services, maintaining a hangar at the
airport. In addition to being a maintenance, repair, and overhaul base for
Pelita Air Service, the airport hosts the Aviation Wing of the Indonesian
National Police, the CASA 212-equipped Skadron Udara 21/Serba Guna of the
Indonesian Army, and the Naval Aviation (Puspenerbal) of the Indonesian Navy.
Portela Jaya also has a light-sport aircraft hangar at the airport.
Currently, Pondok Cabe does not handle scheduled commercial airline traffic.
However, Pelita Air Service offers charter flights to Sorong, Dumai, Bandung,
and Yogyakarta from this airport.
Garuda
Indonesia, the Indonesian flag carrier, plans to establish a base at Pondok Cabe Airport by the end of 2016. The airline intends to operate ATR
72-600 aircraft, offering flights to cities in Java, Sumatra, and Kalimantan.
The government has approved Garuda Indonesia to provide daily flights to six
destinations: Bandar Lampung and Palembang on Sumatra, Pangkalan Bun in Central
Kalimantan, and Semarang, Yogyakarta, and Solo on Java, once the airport opens
to scheduled services.
The airport features one runway, designated 18/36, with an asphalt surface
measuring 1,986 meters (6,516 feet) in length.
