Komodo Airport

Komodo Airport (Indonesian: Bandar Udara Komodo) (IATA: LBJ, ICAO: WATO) is located near Labuan Bajo on Flores island in Indonesia's East Nusa Tenggara province. Named for its proximity to Komodo National Park, the airport serves as a gateway for tourists visiting the park, home to the famed Komodo dragon.

Previously known as Mutiara II Airport, it should not be confused with Mutiara Airport in Central Sulawesi near Palu. In September 2013, the airport successfully accommodated its first Boeing 737-800 landing and takeoff.

Terminal Facilities

President Joko Widodo inaugurated the new terminal of Komodo Airport on December 27, 2015. The updated terminal significantly enhances passenger capacity from 150,000 to 1.5 million annually, supporting increased tourism to Flores and surrounding areas. The terminal features cafes, shops, and all basic passenger amenities, as well as parking lots and a taxi stand outside.

Managed by UPT Ditjen Hubud under Indonesia's Ministry of Transportation, the airport ensures convenience for all travelers.

Public Transportation

Bus: There are no bus services from Komodo Airport.

Private cars and taxis: A variety of private car and taxi services are available outside the arrival hall, with prices open to negotiation.
