Aircraft Maintenance Technician

Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT), refers to a licensed qualification for
carrying out aircraft maintenance in major airports. Aircraft Maintenance
Technicians (AMTs) inspect and perform or supervise maintenance, preventive
maintenance, and alteration of aircraft and aircraft systems.
The minimum requirement for AMT is certificate in Aircraft Maintenance
Engineering from a Civil Aviation Authority of United States (CAA) approved
institute.
Starting average salary of Aircraft Maintenance Technician in major airports in
United States is approximately is $50,000 per annum. Entry level positions start
at $35,000 per annum while most experienced workers make up to $96,000 per
annum.
Overtime and shift allowances can increase income and some airlines provide
subsidised travel after a qualifying period.
