As an Aviation Security Officer (ASO) you will be expected to perform a range of duties which are designed to ensure the safety and security of aviation within major airports.

The person work as ASO must dedicated, responsible and willing to commit to ensuring this safety and security within the airports.

To achieve this, ASO’s are required to perform the following tasks:

• Passenger and carry-on baggage screening;
• Screening of checked-in baggage;
• Screening of airport workers;
• Airport and aircraft searches;
• Airside driving and escorts; and
• Other tasks as required.

Work of Aviation Security Officers is variable depending on the flight schedule, flight delays, weather conditions and passenger volume. Shift work / non standard shifts are common as well as weekends, holidays and nights.

The average Aviation Security Officers salary in United States is US$35,000 per annum. Entry level positions start at US$28,000 per annum while Aviation Security Manager can make up to US$65,000 per annum.
