United States Coast Guard Academy
The United States Coast Guard Academy (USCGA) is the smallest of the five
federal service academies. The academy provides education to future Coast Guard
officers in one of eight major fields of study. It was established in 1876.
The U.S. Coast Guard Museum is located in Waesche Hall on the grounds of the
United States Coast Guard Academy. The museum's artifacts reflect the history of
the U.S. Coast Guard and include ship models, carved figureheads, cannons,
uniforms, medals, weapons, memorabilia and paintings.

Getting There
Here are some possible ways to get there:
By car: You can drive to New London using the I-95 highway. The academy is
located off of Exit 84, and signs will guide you to the entrance. There is
limited parking available on campus.
By train: You can take an Amtrak train to New London, which is served by the
Northeast Regional and Acela Express lines. The Coast Guard Academy is a short
taxi or Uber ride from the train station.
By plane: The closest airport to New London is
T.F. Green Airport in Providence, Rhode Island, which is about an hour away
by car. Alternatively, you can fly into
Bradley
International Airport in Hartford, Connecticut, which is about 90 minutes
away by car. From either airport, you can rent a car or take a taxi or Uber to
the academy.
