Mt. Cuba Center
This non-profit botanical garden and historical preserve consists of 630 acres
(255 ha). Mt. Cuba's well-documented plant collection is focused on the study of
Delaware Piedmont flora.
Mt. Cuba's well-documented plant collection is focused on the study of eastern
North American flora, with emphasis on the Appalachian Piedmont. The collections
hold over 6,500 accessions. Horticultural research focuses on Coreopsis,
Heuchera, Baptisia, and Trillium. Mt. Cuba Center is a "national collection"
holder for Hexastylis and Trillium.
The Mt. Cuba Center was added to the National Register of Historic Places in
2003. It is a non-profit botanical garden and historical preserve which focuses
on flora from Delaware's Piedmont region.

Getting There
To get to Mt. Cuba Center in Delaware by car, you can take Route 52 (Kennett
Pike) and turn onto Barley Mill Road. From there, turn left onto Kirk Road and
continue for about 1 mile. The entrance to Mt. Cuba Center will be on your left.
By bus, you can take the DART bus Route 22 to the intersection of Kirk Road and
Barley Mill Road, and then walk about 1 mile to Mt. Cuba Center.
By train, the closest train station is Wilmington Station, and from there you
can take a taxi or ride-sharing service to Mt. Cuba Center, which is about 9
miles away.
