Also called the Mission of the Sacred Heart, the church is the oldest standing building in Idaho. It was designed by Antonio Ravalli, who made sure that it was constructed by local Indians so that they could feel part of the church.

Getting There

Cataldo Mission is located in Cataldo, Idaho, off I-90 between Coeur d'Alene and Wallace. Here are some ways to get there:

By Car: Cataldo Mission is located off I-90, exit 39, just south of the freeway. The mission is visible from the freeway, making it easy to find. There is ample parking available on site.

By Bus: Unfortunately, there is no public transportation available directly to Cataldo Mission. However, there are several private shuttle companies that offer transportation to and from the mission. Some of the shuttle companies that provide service to Cataldo Mission are Road Runner Shuttle, Spokane Airport Shuttle, and Spokane Shuttle.

By Bike: The Coeur d'Alene Trail is a popular bike path that runs from Plummer to Mullan, Idaho, and passes by Cataldo Mission. Bicyclists can easily access the mission from the trail.

By Foot: Cataldo Mission is located just a short walk from the Coeur d'Alene Trail. Hikers and walkers can easily reach the mission from the trailhead.
