Idaho Botanical Garden

The Idaho Botanical Garden botanical garden located on 50 acres (200,000 m2) at 2355 North Old Penitentiary Road, Boise, Idaho. After the penitentiary was closed, the land lay dormant for more than a decade, and in 1984 the gardens were first created.

The Idaho Botanical Garden hosts may events throughout the year, including special events for families and children.

Getting There

The Idaho Botanical Garden is located at 2355 Old Penitentiary Road, Boise, ID 83712. Here are some ways to get there:

By Car: The garden is located about 4 miles from downtown Boise and is easily accessible by car. Visitors can take the I-84 Eastbound from downtown Boise and then take exit 53 for ID-21. Follow the signs to the Old Penitentiary and the Botanical Garden.

By Bus: Visitors can take the ValleyRide bus route 16 from downtown Boise to the Old Penitentiary stop. From there, it is a short walk to the garden.

By Bike/Walking: Visitors can take the Boise River Greenbelt, a 25-mile pedestrian and bike path that runs through the heart of Boise. The garden is located about 2 miles from the Julia Davis Park entrance to the Greenbelt.
