When the Liberty Memorial opened on November 11, 1926 , President Calvin Coolidge delivered the dedication speech. The memorial is home to the National World War I Museum, which opened on December 2, 2006.

In 2004, the Liberty Memorial was officially designated by Congress as America's National World War I Memorial.

The tower is 217 feet (66 m) tall.

Getting There

Liberty Memorial is accessible by public transportation. Visitors can take the KCATA Bus Route 27 to the Liberty Memorial stop, which is located near the entrance to the memorial. Alternatively, visitors can take the KC Streetcar and get off at the Union Station stop, which is a short walk from the Liberty Memorial.
