Hall of Fame for Great Americans
The 'Hall of Fame' is an open-air colonnade, 630 feet in length. Placed along
the colonnade are bronze busts of American-born people who have contribute to
the economic, political, or cultural life of the nation.
The last group of honorees elected to the Hall of Fame were Clara Barton, Luther
Burbank and Andrew Carnegie. They were chosen in 1976.
The site was featured in the 2006 film "The Good Shepherd" as part of Yale
University.
The landmark sits on the site of Fort Washington, lost to the British in 1776
during the Revolutionary War.
