The North Dakota Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center
The North Dakota Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center, operated by the Lewis &
Clark Fort Mandan Foundation, interprets the history of the Lewis and Clark
Expedition, with a special focus on the winter they spent at Fort Mandan.
It opened in 1997 and overlooks the Missouri River outside of Washburn, North
Dakota.
The Center includes a museum store, temporary exhibits, an events facility, and
a research library.

Getting There
The North Dakota Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center is located at 2576 8th St
SW, Washburn, ND 58577.
There is no public transportation directly to the center. However, visitors can
take the Bis-Man Transit's Red Line to Washburn, which is about 3.5 miles from
the center. From there, visitors can take a taxi or ride-sharing service to the
center. Alternatively, visitors can rent a car to get to the center.
