Atlantic Beach Amusement Park
Atlantic Beach Park retains the same old-fashioned charm that characterized
beach recreational areas of years gone by. It is still owned by the same family
that purchased the land in 1920.
The first parcel of this property was purchased in 1920 from the Norwich Trolley
Company by Julia and Harry Trefes. Subsequent purchases by them and their two
sons eventually totaled 12 acres (49,000 m2).
It retains a carousel with antique band organ, kiddie rides, bumper cars, game
room, an ice cream. More recently, mini-golf, go-karts, batting cage,
waterslides, gift shop, and more have been added.
