The Flying Horse Carousel
Possibly the oldest carousel in the United States, it is believed to have been
built 1876. The horses are hung from the ceiling with chains rather than bars.
This makes them appear to "fly" as the carousel turns.

Getting There
The Flying Horse Carousel is located in Watch Hill, Rhode Island. To reach it by
public transportation, you can take the Amtrak train to Westerly station and
then transfer to the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) bus route 9,
which goes directly to Watch Hill. From there, it is a short walk to the
carousel. Alternatively, you can take a taxi or ride-sharing service from
Westerly station to Watch Hill.
