A visa is do not required to transit through Belarus providing that they do not intend to leave the international transit area.

Transit entry visa allows to stay in Belarus for the period of up to 2 days including the day of entry.

If you are planning to transit through the territory of Belarus by train or by car, have a second thought why not to stay in this country for a several days instead of just passing through it.

If visiting Belarus is part of a tourist itinerary the person should apply for a tourist visa.

On 9 January 2017 President of Belarus signed a Decree "On establishing a visa-free order of entrance and departure of foreign citizens". The document provides visa-free entry to Belarus for a period not exceeding 5 days for nationals of the following jurisdictions who may stay for a maximum of 5 days upon entry via Minsk National Airport (except for flights departing to and from Russian airports). The number of visa-free entries is unlimited. The decree came into force on 12 February 2017.
