Burundi Transit Visa

A visa is not required to transit through Burundi providing that they do not intend to leave the international transit area. Travellers who wish to leave the airport can apply for Transit Visa for a stay of not more than 72 hours with fees of USD10.

Until 30 April 2015 citizens of all countries entering Burundi through Bujumbura International Airport were able to apply for a visa upon arrival. However, an entry authorisation letter issued by the authorities of Burundi is required to obtain a Visa on Arrival (VOA).
