Passengers in transit are exempt from visa or tourist card requirements if their transit time does not exceed 72 hours. They are allowed to enter Cuba provided they have confirmed tickets and all necessary documents needed for their next trip.

They must also have about USD$50 per each person per day or its equivalent in currency that is freely exchanged for their daily support. It is allowed to leave the airport for hotel accommodation.
