Air Astana Lost & Found

Passengers who misplace personal belongings while travelling with Air Astana should report the incident immediately after discovering the loss. The reporting procedure differs depending on whether the item was left onboard the aircraft, within the airport terminal, or involves checked baggage.

Items Left on Board the Aircraft

Articles found inside the aircraft after arrival are collected by the cabin crew and transferred to the airline's ground handling representative. Each recovered item is recorded and stored while the airline attempts to identify the owner.

Items Lost at the Airport

Property misplaced inside airport facilities, including check-in areas, security checkpoints, immigration halls, boarding gates, lounges, restaurants, and baggage reclaim areas, is handled by the airport's Lost and Found office. Air Astana cannot retrieve items held by airport authorities.

Baggage-Related Lost Property

Passengers whose checked baggage does not arrive at the destination must notify the baggage service office before leaving the arrivals hall. A Property Irregularity Report (PIR) is prepared to begin tracing through the WorldTracer baggage tracking system.

Reporting a Lost Item

Passengers should provide their flight number, travel date, baggage tag number if applicable, seat number, contact details, and a detailed description of the missing property. Supporting photographs assist with identification where available.

Recovery and Collection

Passengers are notified once lost baggage or personal belongings have been located. Identification and proof of ownership are required before collection. Delivery services may be arranged according to local handling procedures and destination regulations.

Passenger Advice

Passports, cash, jewellery, medicines, electronic devices, business documents, and fragile valuables should remain in cabin baggage throughout the journey. Air Astana applies the liability provisions contained in its Conditions of Carriage and international aviation agreements for checked baggage and personal belongings.
