ExpressJet

ExpressJet Airlines, Inc. is an American airline headquartered (HQ) at College Park, Georgia, United States. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of SkyWest, Inc., parent company of the air carrier SkyWest Airlines.

Before the acquisition from SkyWest, it was an independent airline, and previously, a subsidiary of Continental Airlines. ExpressJet Airlines, Inc., originally Continental Express, Inc., was a Delaware corporation.

ExpressJet operates as United Express and is owned by ManaAir, LLC, which has a minority interest from United Airlines. The airline flew solely as United Express until it lost its contract on September 30, 2020.

ExpressJet Airlines began its first commercial flying mission on Sept. 30, 2021 – exactly one year to the day since its last flight as a United Express carrier for United Airlines.

The successful mission was a sports team charter between Tallahassee, Fla. and Anderson S.C.ExpressJet anticipates serving a variety of charter customers with its popular ERJ145 jets and continuing its legacy as the pre-eminent regional-jet charter provider in America.

ExpressJet’s charter mission came one day after the company announced the launch of aha!, its “air-hotel-adventure” leisure brand. Combining value-priced fares and nonstop flights, aha! will begin flying from its home base at Reno-Tahoe International Airport on October 24, 2021 to eight cities across the western United States.
