Tjilik Riwut Airport (IATA: PKY, ICAO: WAGG), previously known as Panarung
Airport, stands as a prominent aviation facility in Palangka Raya, Central
Kalimantan, Indonesia. Situated approximately 4 kilometers west of Palangka
Raya's city center, it holds the distinction of being the largest airport in
Central Kalimantan.
Named in honor of Tjilik Riwut, the second Governor of Central Kalimantan, the
airport falls under the management of the Ministry of Transportation, Indonesia.
Terminal Facilities
Following the inauguration of a new terminal on October 10th, 2014, the
airport's capacity has significantly expanded. With a total area of 15,000
square meters, the modern double-story terminal can accommodate up to 1,000
passengers daily. Equipped with essential amenities, including shops and
restaurants, the terminal ensures a comfortable travel experience for
passengers. Additionally, Lion Air has established an aviation academy at the
airport, providing aviation training opportunities in the region.
Public Transportation
The airport is accessible via general buses serving various destinations, while
car rental services and taxi options are readily available outside the arrival
hall.
