Bottle Creek Indian Mounds
This is an archaeological site once occupied by a Mississippian culture between
AD 1250 and 1550. It includes 18 earthen mounds, the tallest being roughly 45
feet high.

Bottle Creek Indian Mounds is located in the Tensaw River Delta of Mobile
County, Alabama, and is accessible only by boat. Here are some steps to get
there:
Rent a boat: You can rent a boat from several companies located in nearby towns,
such as Mobile or Stockton, Alabama. Some companies may provide guided tours to
the mounds.
Launch the boat: Once you have rented the boat, you can launch it from several
public boat ramps in the area, such as the Blakeley State Park boat ramp or the
Live Oak Landing boat ramp.
Navigate to the mounds: After launching the boat, navigate to the mounds by
following the signs and maps. The mounds are located on the east bank of the
Mobile-Tensaw River Delta, approximately 15 miles north of Mobile Bay.
