It is the only surviving residential example of Richard Upjohn's Italian villa style that was especially designed to suit the Southern climate and the plantation lifestyle. The building was designed and constructed for Edward Kenworthy Carlisle.

By Car: From the city center, take Washington Street and turn right onto College Street. Continue on College Street for about 1.5 miles, then turn right onto Kenworthy Hall Road. The entrance to Kenworthy Hall will be on your left.

By Foot: Kenworthy Hall is located about 1.5 miles from the city center of Marion. It is possible to walk to Kenworthy Hall, but it will take about 30 minutes.
