Sloss Furnaces
Sloss Furnaces was operated as a pig iron-producing blast furnace from 1882 to
1971. After closing it became one of the first industrial sites in the U.S. to
be preserved for public use. The site currently serves as an interpretive museum
of industry.

Getting There
If you're traveling from the city center, you can take I-20 E/I-59 N and take
exit 126A to merge onto US-31 S/US-280 E/Red Mountain Expy. Then take the 2nd
Ave S exit toward downtown and merge onto 2nd Ave S. Turn left onto 32nd St S,
and Sloss Furnaces will be on your right.
