Established in 1951 as Katafaga Estates Ltd before becoming Air Pacific in 1971,
the airline adopted the Fiji Airways brand in 2013, restoring the country's
national aviation identity.
The carrier operates scheduled passenger and cargo services linking Fiji with destinations throughout the South Pacific, Asia, North America, and New Zealand. Its network provides direct international connections to countries including Singapore, Hong Kong SAR, Japan, the United States, Canada, Samoa, Tonga, Vanuatu, Kiribati, Tuvalu, and several New Zealand cities. Domestic services connect major islands through Fiji Link, the airline's regional subsidiary.

Fiji Airways is a full-service airline and became a full member of the oneworld alliance in April 2025 after several years as a oneworld Connect partner.
