Known as one of the world’s most challenging airports, it is surrounded by towering Himalayan peaks and requires precision and skill for landings and takeoffs. The airport serves as the main gateway to Bhutan, welcoming international and domestic travelers.

While small, the airport efficiently caters to its limited yet vital flight operations.

Airlines and Destinations

Paro International Airport is served by Drukair (Royal Bhutan Airlines) and Bhutan Airlines (Tashi Air), which operate flights to regional destinations including India (Delhi, Kolkata, Bagdogra), Nepal (Kathmandu), Thailand (Bangkok), and Singapore.

Public Transportation

Transportation options include taxis and private transfers, which are the most common choices for reaching nearby areas, including Thimphu. Limited bus services also connect Paro to the capital.
