Kampong Chhnang Airport

Kampong Chhnang Airport is a small airport located near the town of Kampong
Chhnang in central Cambodia. Originally built during the Khmer Rouge regime, the
airport was intended to serve as a military airbase. However, it has since
fallen into disuse and is not currently operational for commercial or military
flights.
Facilities
Kampong Chhnang Airport has minimal facilities, as it is largely abandoned. The
infrastructure includes a runway and some remaining structures, but there are no
operational terminal facilities, no passenger services, and no amenities such as
shops or restaurants.
Airlines
There are no airlines operating out of Kampong Chhnang Airport. The airport has
not been used for commercial flights and does not serve any scheduled air
services.
Public Transportation
Access: Given its non-operational status, there are no transportation services,
such as taxis or buses, connected to the airport. The site is generally
inaccessible to the public and is not a destination for travelers.
Additional Information
Kampong Chhnang Airport is a relic of Cambodia’s turbulent history, with little
to no activity in recent years. The town of Kampong Chhnang itself is more
commonly accessed by road from Phnom Penh, which is about 90 kilometers to the
south. The airport’s lack of operation and facilities make it an unlikely
destination for aviation-related activities.
