Koh Kong Airport

Koh Kong Airport is a small, non-operational airport located near the town of
Koh Kong in southwestern Cambodia, close to the Thai border. The airport was
originally constructed to serve the Koh Kong region but has not been used for
commercial aviation for many years. It remains inactive and does not currently
handle any flights.
Facilities
Koh Kong Airport has minimal and outdated facilities. The infrastructure
includes a runway and a small terminal building, but there are no passenger
services, retail outlets, or dining options available. The airport is largely
abandoned and not maintained for public use.
Airlines
There are no airlines operating at Koh Kong Airport. The airport does not offer
any scheduled commercial or private flights, and there are no general aviation
services available.
Public Transportation
Access: Since the airport is non-operational, there are no public transportation
services such as taxis, buses, or shuttles connected to it. Visitors to Koh Kong
typically use road transportation from Phnom Penh or Sihanoukville, or cross
overland from Thailand, as the airport is not in use.
Additional Information
Koh Kong is known for its natural beauty, including mangrove forests, pristine
beaches, and the Cardamom Mountains. Despite its attractions, the airport does
not contribute to the region’s transportation network. Most travelers access Koh
Kong by road, particularly via the border crossing with Thailand or by bus from
other parts of Cambodia. The airport remains an unused facility with no plans
for reactivation in the near future.
