Václav Havel Airport

Václav Havel Airport Prague (PRG), located approximately 17 km northwest of
Prague’s city center, is the main international gateway to the Czech Republic.
Opened in 1937 and renamed in 2012 after the country’s former president Václav
Havel, the airport is one of Central Europe’s busiest. It offers modern
facilities including extensive duty-free shopping, a variety of restaurants,
cafes, and bars, as well as VIP lounges, business services, and free Wi-Fi
throughout the terminals. Passengers also have access to currency exchange,
ATMs, and car rental services.
The airport operates two main passenger terminals—Terminal 1 for non-Schengen
international flights and Terminal 2 for Schengen zone flights. It is a hub for
Czech Airlines
and Smartwings
and is served by many international airlines, such as
Lufthansa,
Emirates,
Ryanair, and
British Airways,
offering connections to destinations across Europe, North America, Asia, and the
Middle East.
Public transportation options include an efficient bus network connecting the
airport to Prague’s metro system, making it easy to reach the city center. Taxis
are available outside the terminals, and ride-hailing services like Uber operate
at the airport. For those driving, the airport offers ample short-term and
long-term parking options.
