Cairo International Airport

Cairo International Airport (CAI), situated about 15 kilometers northeast of
downtown Cairo, is Egypt’s primary international airport and one of the busiest
in Africa.
Facilities
Cairo International Airport has three main terminals: Terminal 1, catering to a
mix of domestic and international flights; Terminal 2, primarily serving
international flights after its extensive renovation; and Terminal 3, the main
hub for EgyptAir and its
Star Alliance partners.
The airport offers a variety of facilities, including duty-free shops, a range
of dining options, banking and currency exchange services, and business lounges.
Wi-Fi is available throughout the airport, and there are also prayer rooms,
baggage services, and medical facilities to cater to passengers’ needs.
Airlines
Cairo International Airport hosts numerous airlines, with
EgyptAir being the
primary carrier. Other major airlines operating from CAI include
Emirates,
Qatar Airways,
Lufthansa,
Turkish Airlines,
and Air France,
connecting Cairo with cities across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Asia, and
the Americas.
Public Transportation
For public transportation, taxis are readily available at the airport, and
ride-sharing services are commonly used. The Cairo Airport Shuttle Bus provides
connections to various parts of the city. Additionally, the planned Cairo Metro
extension will soon offer a direct connection to the airport, further enhancing
accessibility.
