Bitburg Airport

a city in the Rhineland-Palatinate state of Germany. It is located 2 miles (3
km) southeast of Bitburg, 32 km (20 mile) north of Trier, and 217 km (135 miles)
west of Wiesbaden.
The airport resides at an elevation of 1,223 ft (373 m) above mean sea level. It
has a runway designated 06/24 with asphalt surface measuring 10,026 ft (3,056 m)
in length.
There are no scheduled operations to and from Bitburg Airport. The airport
primarily serves private, recreational, and business aviation, and does not have
scheduled commercial airline operations.
The site was previously a U.S. Air Force base (Bitburg Air Base) but was
converted to civilian use after the military base was closed. The airport
provides facilities for small aircraft, including fueling, maintenance, and
hangar space. It is also used for flight training, skydiving, and other
