Alaska Zoo
The Alaska Zoo is a zoo located in Anchorage, Alaska located on 25 acres (10 ha)
of the Anchorage Hillside. It is a popular attraction in Alaska, with nearly
200,000 visitors per year.
The zoo is currently home to more than 100 birds and mammals representing some
50 species.
The zoo has the widest variety of animals native to the state of Alaska as well
as some exotics such as Amur tigers, Bactrian camels, and yaks.
In addition to viewing, the zoo specializes in education, research, wildlife
conservation, and animal rehabilitation; many of the animals currently in the
zoo were found orphaned or injured.

Getting There
To get to the Alaska Zoo, you can follow these directions:
By car: The Alaska Zoo is located at 4731 O'Malley Road in Anchorage, Alaska. If
you're coming from downtown Anchorage, take the Seward Highway southbound and
turn right onto O'Malley Road. Follow the road for about 2 miles, and you'll see
the zoo entrance on your right.
By public transportation: You can take the People Mover bus system to get to the
Alaska Zoo. Routes 25 and 75 both have stops near the zoo. Check the People
Mover website for schedules and fares.
By taxi or ride-sharing service: You can also take a taxi or a ride-sharing
service like Uber or Lyft to get to the Alaska Zoo. Just enter the zoo's address
into your app, and the driver will take you there.
